Event Details
- WOR SCCA.
- August 29 2026.
- Event Information.
- A lead/follow tour rally through one of Ohio's best roads for sports cars and motorcycles, the Triple Nickel or Route 555.
- Sometimes called Ohio's Tail of the Dragon, and frequently used by Car and Driver for road tests and articles, 63 miles of curves and elevation changes!
- Participant Information.
- Tour Rally.
- As mentioned above, this will be a new type of road rally.
- I wanted to try something different this time, and I have heard of the Triple Nickel, so I made a trip to check it out for myself.
- I think this might be better than the Tail of the Dragon!
- The only thing missing are the photographers, and hopefully semi's/motorhomes/tourists that can clog up the Dragon.
- If you like the Dragon, there is a section towards the end of the first half that can definitely compare.
- But you will also have plenty of curves, sweepers, and elevation changes to keep you on your toes both before and after that area!
- We will be splitting this up into two sections, ending the first half at the Triple Nickel Diner for lunch.
- Then the second half will have one quick stop at a historic covered bridge not far off of Route 555.
- I believe they have decals and patches though, so maybe check them out before we get started?).
- One note: I would recommend checking your gas level before we start, and filling up in Zanesville if needed.
- I found one station on Route 555 with gas but only 87 octane and diesel.
