Member Driving Day – 'Legends' Friday 08/28 is a closed-course open-track event organized by Dominion Raceway – Drivers Club at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, VA. It is scheduled for August 28, 2026.

Schedule

• The Drivers Club at Dominion Raceway is a performance driving club for motoring enthusiasts who want to go fast on track without the hectic schedule and crowded track of a typical track day.
• Please note that pre-registration is definately required if ANY of the following apply to you:.
• – You plan to arrive after 3 P.M. (** We may end the day early if other participants are done and we don't know that you are coming).
• If have not run with us before, and are wanting to run in Intermediate (Blue), or Advanced (Red) Run Group, please go ahead and register for the Novice (Green) Run Group, and then send the documentation noted below for the specific Run Group you are interested in to Jim.Lorimer@DominionRaceway.com to have your Run Group changed.
• A Novice briefing and track orientation is required and will be held at 9:00 A.M..
• NOTE FOR ADVANCED DRIVERS (RED): If you have not previously run in Red Run Group at our Member Days, register for the Green or Blue Run Group and send above credentials to Jim.Lorimer@DominionRaceway.com.
• Once those have been received and approved, your Run Group will be changed to Red.
• NORMAL SCHEDULE.
• ** NOTE THAT THE SCHEDULE MAY BE MODIFIED IF THERE ARE NO PARTICIPANTS IN CERTAIN RUN GROUPS THAT DAY **.
• 8:30 AM – Check-In opens.

Requirements

• Please note that pre-registration is definately required if ANY of the following apply to you:.
• – Less than 3-days of performance driving experience.
• GREEN – Novice: The number of Novice participants that can attend a Member Day may be limited, depending on how much experience they have.
• A Novice briefing and track orientation is required and will be held at 9:00 A.M..
• There will be restricted passing zones and point-bys are required.
• No previous experience, nor check-ride documentation is required.
• BLUE – Intermediate: Restricted passing zones, and point-bys are required.
• Must have one of the following:.
• RED – Advanced: Passing anywhere, and point-bys are required.
• A current competition racing license issued by NASA, SCCA, PCA, IMSA, BMWCCA, VRG, VSCCA, or SVRA.
• **NOTE: The Run Group schedule may be modified at any time, so, as you are leaving the pit lane, be sure to check the color of the "Run Group Board" on the large tire next to the Pit Marshal.
• Before a member attends a Member Day each year, they must have a full technical inspection carried-out on their vehicle(s) and submit a completed "Vehicle Inspection Checklist" form.

Event Details

• NOTES TO MEMBERS:.
• 1) This is a HALF-DAY event, however it will lead into cookout on the deck, and a Member Social which will have beverages and snacks as we watch the Legend action on track. (More details to come…).
• 2) If there are no members registered as of noon the day prior to the Member Day, the flagging staff and Member Day will be canceled.

• Join us for our Member Driving Day at Dominion Raceway!
• Members have access to 20 of these member- and guest-only track days, AND accesss to 12 to 15 other performance driving track events each year.
• All held on the exciting and challenging Dominion Raceway 2-mile road course.
• Located in Thornburg, VA, the club and track are within a 60-mile drive of both Washington, DC and central VA.
• No longer do you have to spend two half-days driving to and from the track, nor is there a need to pay for hotel rooms.
• In addition to having fun with your car on the track, The Drivers Club is very much a social club, in that it also offers members the opportunity to connect with people who have the same appreciation of high-performance vehicles and high-performance driving.
• It is a great way to meet new friends and new business connections!
• THIS EVENT IS ONLY OPEN TO MEMBERS AND MEMBERS' GUESTS.

• WEATHER POLICY:.
• COLD WEATHER: If by noon the day before the Member Driving Day, the forecast calls for less than 3-hours above 45 degrees (not including the lunch break hour), unless there are 6 or more Members and/or guests registered AND COMMITTED-TO (i.e. pre-paid) attending, the Member Driving Day will be canceled.
• The majority of members have stated that they are not interested in driving on the track in temperatures below these.
• WET WEATHER: If by noon the day before the Member Driving Day, the forecast calls for an "all-day" rain, OR severe storms in both the morning and afternoon, the Member Driving Day will most likely be canceled.
• Typically, a forecast for 'scattered showers" or "a thunderstorm or shower" will NOT cause a cancelation.
